Ratanakiri is a large province and almost all of the areas is covered by forest, and uninhabited. This reveals that natural resources and ecological systems are largely remaining undiscovered and undisturbed by man. Something that many are worried that if no timely and appropriate measures are enforced, the similar thing may take place as those in Cambodia neighbors the over-exploitation and subsequent degradation (or even extinction) of natural resources and ecological systems. In order to help…

Birds of Yaklom Hill Lodge

More than 90 per cent of Yaklom Hill Lodge's land is covered with the forest canopy. And so the diversity of native plant species have been providing all year-round habitat and foods for small wildlife, such as birds. With our policy of “no hunting” in the lodge, all the birds and other wildlife here can have freedom of movement, and live here peacefully. This is witnessed by the increasing number of bird species.
