====== FAQ ====== 1. Q: How far is your place from Ban Lung town and the Yaklom Lake? A: Our place is 5 Km east of Ban Lung on the national road#78 (road to Vietnam border). We are about 2 km from the lake. 2. Q: Is it easy to walk from Yaklom Hill Lodge to the lake? Will I get lost? A: Very easy and you will not get lost. We highly suggest that you walk. You can take a trail to the back of our lodge and walk on the trail on the hill until you reach the main road (road#78), where you turn left and continue west until the Yaklom traffic circle (with hill tribe monument). At this traffic circle turn left and walk on the paved road 1 km more to the lake. 3. Q: Do you have electricity at your place? If so, is it available 24 hours? A: Not exactly. There is 220V AC power available approximately from around 6 to 9 pm daily when we run generator. After that period you can use the DC power from the battery charged by the small solar power system. This DC power is mainly for lighting only and you are advised to use this when the generator is off. This is in order for the solar DC power to last as much as possible. Please also turn off DC switch after use and whennever you dont need power. See more in note on power guide in the guest room. 4. Q: Do you have air conditioner or fan in each bungalow? A: There is NO air conditioner in any of our bungalow. Fan is available and will be working when the generator is on (see above). 5. Q: Do you have hot shower available in each bungalow? A: No. There are 2 public hot shower rooms which are operating from 6 pm to 9 pm, or when the generator is on. 6. Q: Do you have a swimming pool? A: No. The 800 m in diameter, natural swimming pool (Yaklom Lake) is just 2 km from our place! 7. Q: What diseases that I should worry about when I go to Ratanakiri? A: Malaria, dengue fever, typhoid are some of the most common in the area. So if you need to consult with your doctor before departure, please add the 3 on your consultation list. Some common practices can also help you avoid contracting to the diseases, such as : sleeping in the mosquito net, using insect repellent, eating only a freshly cooked food, drinking only bottled drinking water. 8. Q: Do you prepare vegetarian foods at your restaurant? A: Yes, of course. Please have a look in our menu. 9. Q: Do you close in rainy season? A : No. We remain opened 365 days a year. 10. Q: Can I do much in rainy season in Ratanakiri? A: It does not rain 24 hours a day everyday in rainy season. There is period of the day that there is no rain. Usually, the raining pattern is rain coming in the late afternoon or at night allowing you to get around most of the daytime. However, it can be that it rains continuously all day all night, but it is not always the case. If you come prepared keeping rain in mind, seeing around Ratanakiri in rainy season could be more interesting : cool weather, green everywhere especially in the slash and burn farm, beautiful and powerful waterfalls, and so on.
