This links page provides you some more useful information of Ratanakiri, and some further of Cambodia. Some websites provide good information on ecotourism, sustainable/responsible travel. - www.geocities.com/yeak_laom : Information on ecotourism trained tour guides who were identified from the Tampuan hill tribe community of Yeaklom commune. A half day guided trekking through the villages and forests in the Yeaklom Protected Area is available to visitors. Fee (which includes entrance to the lake and its cultural center) goes to managing the lake as well as community development activities. Yaklom Hill Lodge can help organize this trek.
- www.greenglobe.org : Green Globe is a global certification programme that promotes conservation of environment and sustainable ecotourism. Yaklom Hill Lodge is now certified as a Benchmarked accommodation. Yaklom Hill Lodge is the first and only the one in the country participating Green Globe programme.
- www.ecoclub.com : This website of the Athens based Ecoclub International provides good information on the ecolodges worldwide. It also has certification programme for the participating accommodation. Yaklom Hill Lodge is the first and the only one accommodation establishment in the country joining the Ecoclub.
- www.canbypublications.com : The very up-to-date information for visitors to Cambodia, including information of Ratanakiri -map of Ban Lung, map of Ratanakiri province, things to see and do, and more.
- www.talesofasia.com : A straight forward information from Gordon Sharpless. Look for Ratanakiri page and photographs (although some of them is not well up to date). For those who plan to enter Cambodia via the Poi Pet-Aranyapratet crossing, this website is a good guide (especially to avoid possible scams and rip-offs!
- www.dougmendel.com : Dough Mendel -the Colorado fire fighter- visited Ratanakiri and stayed at our place -Yaklom Hill Lodge- recently. His web page has extensive galleries of photos of Cambodia. Look for the page of Ratanakiri's photographs. Doug also runs a relief fund to help Cambodia, especially in fire fighting works. See more details and join his efforts in this website.
